The Spiral also called the “Flower of Life”. The soul as being a bridge between your mind and the intangible(real) essence of your spirit, and that it is gently guiding your mind through a doorway of transcendence to a higher plane of awareness. By bringing the flower of life to words and pictures it can spiral your consciousness to a realization greater than itself.
“The spiral can be explained through mathematics – the pattern is a result of complex sequences algorithms which nature utilizes in her designs of the Universe. Spiral can be seen in every aspect of nature. Nupur Kundu’s paintings are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The vibrant colours are always balanced, never out of proportion. At a deeper level, her works take you into an unknown labyrinth you don’t quite know how to get into , the labyrinth is not intimidating nevertheless. The works can be seen as explorations of the human psyche – the complex web of thought processes, actions, reactions governing the psyche. It is like undertaking a visual exploration of the human psyche. Nupur has participated in several exhibitions both in India and abroad. Apart from exhibiting in India, her works have travelled to Dubai, Singapore, USA and Mauritius. She also held a solo art exhibition at the Art Indus, Santushti Complex, New Delhi in April 1999. She has held two-man shows at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai in 2001 and at Surya Gallery, Hyderabad in 2000. She has conducted several workshops in painting for the British Council, New Delhi.

He tries to set up a dialogue between the images and their private associations in his paintings. He tries to raise his paintings above an exercise in mere technical and skillful competency. Though there is disparity in his choice of subjects, his paintings can visually be grouped together, as they naturally bond by a similarity in theme, concept, execution and attitude. His figures speak directly and forcefully, and keep the viewers absorbed. His dialect is local, but its interpretative language makes it valid in a global multilingualism. He discovers his own self in the multiplication of images, and give it a metaphorical sensibility.
He has many solo shows to his credit, and his work is in many private collections in India and abroad.
